The Merchant Alliance in Sea of Thieves is a major trading company that recruits players to carry out various challenging voyages, paying them with solid gold in return. One of the many trade goods that the Alliance commissions are live chickens. Players looking to achieve the Grave V Merchant of the Dawn Caller title will need to capture and deliver a grand total of 200 chickens, so players will need to know where to look. Most players interested in capturing pigs and chickens in Sea of Thieves will be doing it not for the love of island wildlife, but instead for money. The game's Merchant Alliance provides sailors with a way to stuff their coffers by tracking down animals that can be exchanged for coin, but only assuming the crew can work quickly. Where to Find Chickens in Sea of Thieves? So, like pigs in Sea of Thieves, Chickens in Sea of Thieves spawn randomly, as all other wildlife you can come across. So, unfortunately, there is no surefire location; no island that is guaranteed to have chickens on it. There does seem to be a slightly larger chance they’ll appear on an island that has more land mass, but even that doesn’t have to be the case. Not even Chicken Isle has to have chickens on it. Your best bet is probably to go around the nearest islands, until you find an island that has chickens. Might even turn out to be Chicken Isle, you never know. To catch a chicken in Sea of Thieves, you’ll need a chicken coop, which brings us to our next point. How To Catch Chickens Knowing where the chickens are is pretty pointless if players don't know how to catch them. Luckily, this process is very straightforward to learn. To do so, players will need to use a chicken coop. This is an item that can be picked up whenever a Merchant Contract requests that chickens be collected. These coops can be gotten from any Merchant Alliance Representative at outposts, and the number that players are given is equal to the number of chickens requested by the contract. When you find the chicken you need, hold the button and chase the chicken until the meter fills up. The chicken will then be in your coop. Take it back to the ship, but be sure to keep it above deck. If you accidentally capture the wrong chicken, put the coop down. Then, just murder the chicken with your sword, pick up the now-empty coop, and try again. That's really all there is to it. It won't rake in huge amounts of cash, but capturing animals is a consistent and conflict-free way of taking in the sights and earning some gold in the process.
